Gun Fitting BenefitsThe dynamics of shooting the upland game gun require that the shooter focus on the target rather than the gun. For this reason, unlike a rifle used on stationary targets, the shotgun has no sights, merely a small bead that acts as a point of reference in the shooters overall view of the moving target. To ensure a degree of consistent success it is necessary for the shooter to mount the gun with the bores aligned between the hands and under the eye. This must be done consistently on a variety of targets moving in many directions. To ensure this, a gun should be fitted to an individual shooter. What is a Gun Fitting?During a gun fitting, the shooter's style is evaluated for consistency, then utilizing an adjustable "Try Gun" the critical dimensions are adjusted and evaluated to ensure that the gun mounts with the correct hand and eye alignment. Successful fitting, coupled with a sound, consistent mount will ensure that the shot pattern will go where the shooter is looking. Once a shooters individual measurements are established, new guns can be built to suit or existing guns can be modified to meet the new dimensions. Types of Gun FittingsFittings can take two forms, "Static Fittings" which can be done indoors, year-round. Whereas "Dynamic Fittings" are done outdoors and involve shooting the gun at clay targets. This type of fitting is only available spring through fall. Pricing Dynamic Fitting (Outdoors) $300
